Allergy Testing

AIM Laboratories allergy testing uses HELIA analyzer to analyze the Allergy & Food Intolerance. The allergy testing provides the providers clinically accurate and relevant results to help properly identify and measure a patient’s immune response to allergens.

AIM Laboratories uses the state of art HELIA automated analyzer which uses AIDABLOTS® Allergy method to identify more than 200 allergens. AIDABLOTS is an efficient screen profile allergy testing.  It is a membrane based in vitro immunoassay for the parallel determination of allergen specific IgE/IgG4 antibodies against allergens/allergen mixtures and total IgE/IgG4 in serum or dry blood card. The assay permits a large number of tests to be conducted in parallel over a short period of time, which allows AIM for a high throughput and fast turnaround time, resulting in time and cost savings to our customers

Complex Chemistry (Immunoassay)

Immunoassay chemistry is a biochemical test that measures the presence or concentration of a molecule in a solution through the use of an antibody. At AIM Labs, these tests come in many different formations and variations, typically involving multiple steps and reagents. All immunoassay testing relies on the ability of an antibody to recognize and bind to a specific molecule that may be present in human serum. Some examples of these tests include:

Clinical Endocrinology & Hormone

Clinical endocrinology laboratory tests diagnose a wide range of issues pertaining to the endocrine system, specifically hormones, that affect psychological or behavioral actives such as metabolism, growth and development, digestion and reproduction. Hormones are chemicals that affect the actions of different organ systems in the body and are involved in a number of feedback mechanisms that are either inhibited or released into the body. Some examples of these tests include:

Covid-19 (RT-PCR)

AIM Laboratories has been on the forefront of efforts to combat COVID-19 from the onset of the pandemic. AIM Labs was one of the first facilities to be designated by the State of Missouri as an official COVID-19 testing site, and has worked tirelessly with the St Louis community to ensure each individual receives the highest quality test, fastest delivery of results, and 24/7 access to customer support. Having conducted more than 700,000 COVID-19 tests in the St. Louis area, AIM Labs is committed to providing each healthcare professional and patient personalized service to help us navigate through this unprecedented time.

Covid-19 (RT-PCR)
Antibiotic Resistance (ABR) Gene Panel (PCR Panel)
Vaccine

At least 2 million people get an antibiotic-resistant infection each year in the United States and at least 23,000 people die, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It can often take several days to get results under the current standard of care for diagnosing bloodstream infections caused by antimicrobial-resistant pathogens, so antibiotics may be prescribed before it is known whether the strain is resistant to that treatment. The Antibiotics Resistance (ABR) panel developed by AIM Labs, is designed to expedite the right diagnosis, so patients can get targeted treatment sooner. A faster diagnosis also can cut down on the unnecessary use of antimicrobial drugs.

Caregiver

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) are difficult to diagnose. They often include vague symptoms and infections. Many individuals suffer from recurrent and chronic UTI infections and a misdiagnosis can lead to serious consequences. The traditional testing method, urine culture, misses up to 75% of all UTI-positive patients. Additionally, antibiotic resistance has made treatment of UTIs a much greater challenge. This is why it is crucial to accurately identify the infecting pathogens and exclude antibiotic resistance as quickly as possible.

Sorting Medicine

Pharmacogenomics is the study of how inherited genetic differences influence the way drugs or medications affect a person. Such genetic variances can impact the way a drug is absorbed or metabolized in individual patients and impact the drug’s response. Pharmacogenomic tests may provide information about a person’s unique genetic makeup to help healthcare providers optimize medications for more effective care.

The information provided through AIM Laboratories’ pharmacogenetic testing will enable physicians to decrease their need for “trial-and-error”, allowing them to choose effective medication and dosing for your patients much faster.

Breathing Meditation

Acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs) such as bronchitis, sinusitis, and rhinitis account for almost 10% of ambulatory care visits in the United States.1 Despite having similar symptoms, upper and lower respiratory tract infections are caused by a wide range of microbes, including RNA and DNA viruses, bacteria, and fungi. However, detection of these pathogens can often be difficult. Immunoassays are limited to a small number of respiratory pathogens and lack sensitivity. While molecular detection is more sensitive, most commercially available tests are expensive, primarily focus on either viruses or bacteria, and lack the flexibility to customize target lists based on laboratory needs. In addition, concurrent prevalence of viral and bacterial pathogens is a growing concern and needs effective detection methods.

Happy Woman

Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs) in women present challenges in diagnosis, management, and prevention.  RTIs and women’s health are intricately intertwined, and it is important to have a comprehensive approach to testing and diagnosis. That’s why AIM Labs has developed a complete Women’s Reproductive Health panel that includes the most common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, chancroid, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and endogenous infections, which are caused by overgrowth of organisms normally present in the genital tract of healthy women, such as bacterial vaginosis or vulvovaginal candidiasis.

RTIs are often neglected in women because they are often asymptomatic, or the symptoms are not easily recognizable. Left untreated, RTIs can result in chronic morbidity, infertility, and even neoplasia.

Reflexology Therapy
Wound and Skin (PCR Panel)

An infected wound is a localized defect or excavation of the skin or underlying soft tissue in which pathogenic organisms have invaded into viable tissue surrounding the wound. Infection of the wound often triggers the body’s immune response, causing inflammation and tissue damage, as well as slowing the healing process. It is essential to establish timely and accurate testing on wounds in order to identify the source and treatment of the infection. AIM Labs has developed a Wound and Skin testing panel that covers a range of the most common infections.

Hematology & Urinalysis

Hematology is the science or study of blood, blood-forming organs and blood diseases. Whole blood is made up of several parts including but not limited to red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. At AIM Labs, our automated hematology analyzer provides rapid results in addition to manual slide reviews that aid Physicians in diagnosing blood disorders and malignancies including types of hemophilia, leukemia, lymphoma and sickle-cell anemia.

Lab Experiments
Clinical Chemistry

AIM Labs offers a range of test panels utilizing Clinical Chemistry, the area of medical science that involves the analysis of bodily fluids for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Our scientists use chemical reactions to determine the levels of various chemical compounds. These chemical reactions are typically performed on serum and are used to detect and quantify different bodily fluids to help diagnose issues such as kidney and liver disorders, cardiac function, glucose levels, minerals and electrolytes.
